FiberTech wins the grand prize at Tokyo Venture Technology Prize 2004

FiberTech has applied for Tokyo Venture Technology Prize 2004 (theme: High-value added manufacturing - Creation of new markets; application: May 31 to June 25, 2004) with its newest product Video Laryngoscope FVL-601i. After screening of the application documents, interview, on-site review, and final review, presentation of the review results and awards ceremony took place on October 22, 2004, at Tokyo Big Site, and FiberTech was awarded the grand prize. Tokyo governor Shintaro Ishihara attended the ceremony and presented the testimonial to FiberTech’s President Shinya Miike.

The awarded Video Laryngoscope FVL-601i is a product of an entirely new concept that adds a video scope to the conventional laryngoscope used for endotracheal intubation at the time of emergency care or general anesthesia. It is a high-potential product that may increase survival rate when used against patients in cardiopulmonary arrest (number of patients is more than 9000 in Tokyo alone). The grand prize has been given to praise the high-value added product development and technology that are in line with the revised law concerning paramedics. FiberTech takes this opportunity to further work on development of new technology and provide better medical devices to the market, thereby contribute to society.
